SMPTE Advisory Notice for SMPTE RP 224 v11 Labels Register

 

The RP224 Labels Register has been found to contain inconsistencies in two of its enumerations of labels for sound channel labeling. These labels were added in version 11 published on 16 February 2011.

 

The two affected enumerations document multiple labels used by ST 429-2 D-Cinema Packaging and corresponding to ST 2035 Audio Channel Assignments for Digital Television Recorders. The UL value shown in the register is inconsistent with the UL value used in ST 429-2.

 

SMPTE is working diligently to address this issue such that the register is made consistent with the UL values used in ST 429-2 and ST 2035, and will re-issue the register in due course.

 

In the meantime, users of RP224 v11 are advised that the following entries are subject to change and must not be used.
